The Jeep Compass is one of a phalanx of compact SUVs sold in Australia and despite its famous surname it has struggled to carve out a niche for itself.

This latest refresh of the second-generation model first seen in Australia in 2017 attempts to address that issue.

Significant design and equipment upgrades for the 2021 Jeep Compass have been applied inside the cabin, while safety systems also get a much-appreciated boost.

However, the technical package remains much the same. There is a front-wheel drive entry model and four 4x4 variants, including the top-shelf S-Limited ($46,950 plus on-road costs) tested here.
