PPD PENSIANGAN X - ANGKUKUI - BORNEO ARTS FESTIVAL (BAF) 2022 - JUARA TITANIUM.

Ever since last August, SK Pekan Nabawan had debuted a folk dance namely ‘Alang Angkukui’ in the Akademi Citra Seni Sabah 1.0 (ACES). They won incredibly in numerous awards which includes Best Choreography, Best Fashion, and not to mention that they also won the highly coveted award, Champion!

3 schools (SK Salarom, SK Pekan Nabawan, SK Logongon) had decided to participate in the Borneo Arts Festival (BAF) 2022. Decisions were made over Facetime. The name ‘Pensiangan X’ was first chosen as a way to magnify the achievement in the district of Nabawan, Pensiangan particularly in Arts and Culture among students. The letter ‘X’ symbolizes various power, abilities and the exquisite authenticity that each school brings into play. ‘PPD’ was later added to top off the group name. Henceforth, ‘PPD Pensiangan X’ was finally established.

It was time to dive into the creative version of the folk dance. Hence, moving onto the next level, which is the BAF stage held the following month.

All preparations were made in less than a month (3 weeks to be exact). The 3 schools managed to pull all resources efficaciously and raced against the precious time given to bring about the best version of the creative dance called ‘Angkukui’.
