Nagarhole national park also known as Rajiv Gandhi national park, is a tiger reserve located in Mysore and kodagu district in southern Karnataka.The kabini river, which is a major tributary of Kaveri flows through this forest.It is situated at a distance of 75 kms from Mysore . There are two parties that conducts safari.one is national park forest department, which conducts 1.5 hrs bus safari in evening and morning, which you can book from national park website. You can also book stay options if you like. The second option is River and jungles lodges resort which is official parter of Karnataka tourism department, this is only resort which has authority to conduct safari apart from government safari.They conduct two safari of 3 hrs each , one in morning and one in evenings. We stayed in vanandhaara luxury home stay in kutta which is just 15 mins away from this check post gate.
