The 23-year-old Arkansas woman lost her father several years ago, and has felt herself bereft at times, without him there to guide her. So, for the last four years, Patterson has been texting her late father’s cell phone, in hopes the messages would somehow reach him, wherever he may be.

In her texts, Patterson would share details about her day, tell her dad how much she missed him, but after 4 years, a reply came through.
