Plastic Waste on the Farm! After days of unbearable heat and humidity, the break in the weather felt like a breath of fresh air—literally! The entire farm came alive with new energy today. The sheep were noticeably more active and full of life, and so were we!

While we were eager to get back into the fields, the forecast was calling for rain, so we shifted our focus to a major clean-up operation around Ewetopia Farms. We rented a large garbage container and began the huge task of collecting and disposing of plastic waste generated from farming: bale wrap, plastic spools, feed bags, and seed bags.

This video offers a look at the often-unseen side of agriculture—the unavoidable pollution that comes with it. Although our farm now looks much cleaner and more organized, we’re left with the troubling reality that most of this plastic ends up in landfill sites. It's not recyclable, not biodegradable, and it's expensive to get rid of properly.

Join us as we tackle this necessary but disheartening task, and reflect on the environmental cost of modern farming.
