Скачать или смотреть Pumpkinhead 2: Blood Wings (1994) Is All Style, No Substance

Okay, lets give Pumpkinhead 2 a try, since I wasn’t too impressed with the first one. The second film, subtitled Blood Wings, really has nothing to do with the original. It’s just another pumpkinhead-like situation in which some teenagers piss off an old lady, who calls on pumpkinhead for revenge. It’s almost a re-telling of the first film, a la Evil Dead 2.

Actually, I think the teens summon Pumpkinhead this time, I can’t quite remember. The cast is pretty good, and includes Punky Brewster herself, Soliel-Moon Frye in. a supporting role. I enjoyed the “dad energy” from the small town sheriff who starts investigating after a few townsfolk turn up brutally murdered, and honestly, many of the obvious non-actors on this film were giving their best. It’s kinda cute actually.

But again, there is not much story to this movie. I mean there are things going on between the teenagers, one of them has a bit of a god complex, but its not that interesting. And then out of nowhere, Pumpkinhead shows up amid flashing strobe lights and gusting winds (even inside) to tear someone apart.

I admit, this is a very impressive creature, it looks even better in the second film. But for me its all style and no substance. Pumpkinhead doesn’t even say anything, he just roars menacingly while a ‘90s rave takes place around him.

With all that being said, I liked Pumpkinhead 2 more than the first film. The special effects are incredible, the kills more impressive and elaborate, and the ending was truly a surprise that I didn’t see coming. If you’re interested, you can find this on Prime. SYATM.
