QantasLink Business Class - Sydney to Hobart (QF 1583) - Boeing 717-200

We look at a short domestic Business Class flight on board a refurbished 2-class QantasLink Boeing 717-200 between Sydney and Hobart.

After using the self-serve check-in kiosk and baggage drop station, we clear airport security using the priority screening lane reserved for Business Class and premium Qantas passengers. We spend a short time in the domestic Business Lounge having a warm buffet breakfast before going to the gate to board the flight.

Using the priority boarding lane, we're quickly on-board the B717-200. The Business Class cabin has 12 leather recliner seats arranged in a 2-2 configuration over 3 rows. I review the hard product seat, which I found similar in comfort to the Business Class seats on the Qantas B737-800. When we're airborne I also have a look at the breakfast service and the IFE system.

A short time later we land at Hobart airport. We need to walk to the terminal as there's no jetbridge available at the airport. Once we're in the arrivals hall, we pick up our priority baggage at the carousel before hailing a taxi to the hotel.
