The 15 Different Types Of Jellyfish

Описание к видео The 15 Different Types Of Jellyfish

When the dinosaurs roamed the Earth, jellyfish were already a part of the ecosystem. These jellyfish-like organisms ride the waves of our oceans and can be found in waters of diverse temperatures, depths, and proximity to land. Jellyfish can range in colour from transparent to bright pinks, yellows, blues, and purples. Also, some of them can be bioluminescent, meaning they generate their own light.
The brain, heart, bones, and eyes of a jellyfish do not exist. They feature a bag-like body and tentacles that are loaded with microscopic stinging cells. These remarkable invertebrates may stun or paralyse their prey with stinging tentacles before devouring it. The jellyfish has a mouth smack in the middle of its bell-shaped body. This tiny hole serves as both an orifice for food intake and an exit for waste. The jellyfish may move ahead by squirting a jet of water from its mouth. Very interesting, huh?
