A step-by-step guide to your EPF online and offline withdrawal process | Partial and Full withdrawal

Описание к видео A step-by-step guide to your EPF online and offline withdrawal process | Partial and Full withdrawal

The EPF or the Employees’ Provident Fund is the first investment for many of us. Investing in the EPF is simple. Every month, the employee contributes 12% of their basic salary and it is matched by a 12% contribution by the employer. The rest of the things are automatically taken care of by the HR department. But withdrawing from the EPF is not as straightforward. It requires one to understand the rules involved.

If you would like to understand more about how the EPF works and what its features are, you can watch one of our earlier videos at:

   • Employee Provident Fund (EPF) -  How ...

One can make a complete withdrawal from the EPF in two cases: on retirement and on being unemployed for over two months. The EPF can also be withdrawn fully by the nominee or legal heirs if the subscriber passes away.

The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has mentioned cases and criteria when one can make partial EPF withdrawals. For the details, check this link:

EPF withdrawals at retirement are tax-free. Withdrawals after five years of continuous service are also tax-free. Withdrawals before five years are subject to tax and TDS. The rules are explained in the video.

To withdraw your EPF online, you can visit EPFO’s unified portal at:

https://unifiedportal-mem.epfindia.go...

You must have a Universal Account Number or UAN for online withdrawals. You can use the same portal to activate or know your UAN. For offline withdrawals, you will need to visit the nearest EPFO office.
