Saggar Silliness: An Experimental Reduction Firing in an Electric Kiln

Описание к видео Saggar Silliness: An Experimental Reduction Firing in an Electric Kiln

Since getting an electric kiln I have always wanted to try saggar firing to produce reduction-fired glazes that you normally have to fire in a gas or wood kiln.

Reduction firing creates excess carbon monoxide in the kiln atmosphere which strips oxygen from the glazes producing different colours than oxidation firing - like red from copper instead of green.

A saggar is simply an enclosed form in which you fire the glazed pot.
