Eurasian Teal (Anas creca creca) SD 480p

Описание к видео Eurasian Teal (Anas creca creca) SD 480p

The Eurasian Teal is a considered a separate race of the Green-winged Teal (Anas creca). They are identical except that the vertical white stripe on the body of Anas creca is absent in the Eurasian race. Instead, a horizontal white stripe is present above the flanks. At only 14 inches, the Eurasian Teal is the smallest of all the puddle or dabbling ducks. An attractive iridescent green band extends across the eye and down the side of the head. The black bill is narrow and short. These two races of Anas creca are very fast in the air. They fly in tight groups that often turn quickly and erratically. Both species are rare visitors to Hawai`i. Both prefer to feed on mudflats but also frequent taro patches and irrigation ditches.

The vocalizations are courtesy of Xeno-Canto, (catalog #XC354704) recorded in Nome, Alaska by Frank Lambert.
