Ist flight after getting my three spot landings--and I overshot the target. :)

I might have intentionally started this clip a little on the early side to capture the instructor's praise for getting my spot landings in so quickly. :)

Solid launch (other than looking down, which a much more seasoned pilot let me know about that evening, so I'll work on phasing out that bad habit.)

I'd already passed my Soaring test a month and change ago, and the air was getting active this late in the morning, so I decided to try catching a thermal for the first time. On the ride down, I tried turning into a couple patches that felt like lift, but I didn't gain any altitude.

Lessons reinforced: Before I do a turn, I need to (1) ensure I have sufficient altitude above the ground and (2) ensure I have a reasonably safe glide path to the landing zone so I don't have to land out. (The 2nd thing is easy to forget if I'm too focused on the 1st one.)
