How To Texture A Machete, Knife or Axe Handle in 5 mins

Описание к видео How To Texture A Machete, Knife or Axe Handle in 5 mins

Do you want to quickly add a Textured Grip to your tool handle for safety? Here is an extremely fast and professional method to add a rough pattern to your Machete, Knife or Axe handle. It only takes 5 minutes and anyone can do it!

Some like a smooth handle for comfort, others like it rough for safety. Luckily there is an easy solution for both options. In this clip I'm sharing a very simple method of rolling in a highly textured pattern into the timber handles on your tools. Not only does it look like a pro did it, it provides a really aggressive and positive grip on your tool.

Don't like all the awesome and free information and want to jump straight to the texturing process? Skip to 4:25 for the file rolling technique.

Does anyone want to name this technique? I can't say I have ever seen it done before and I thought it was too good not to share it. Yes, that was a slide poking fun at communism. Hopefully it will save a few of you from loosing a little bark in an accident... Yes, that was aimed at both the textured grip as well as the failed ideology.

Sorry for the long delay in uploads and thank you to the people that kept commenting and asking for more. Hey, I managed to get a better mic and studio lights as well as paint a swanky looking backdrop. What do you think?

Good youtube clips take a really long time to plan, film and edit. Finding that time can be challenging. It's actually a lot of fun to connect with campers across the globe and I'm happy to share the info that has been shared with me.

If you really want to say thanks?

Facebook likes are always welcomed! As with Youtube, Facebook does not promote bushcraft related content, especially when they include machetes. We have more information there on some of the fancier machetes and tools we use including that awesome Iron Horse stitching pony built from scrap.

The two files used in the clip were:

BAHCO 230-10-1 Double Cut Coarse Round

Nicholson 10” Double Cut Coarse Half Round

Quick Tip when using Boiled Linseed Oil. If you mix a little Mineral Turpentine with it for the first coat, it will sink in deeper and dry faster. All the other coats, you can just use it straight from the bottle. Just remember, the rags you use can ignite (rare, but still a risk) due to the oil oxidising as it dried.
