1958 MGA Restoration 30g Hood and Front Grill Installed

The hood and front grill are on now. The hood had three captive nuts missing, and getting them back in was a bitch. I also took apart the hood release mechanism and cleaned everything up, including the pull rod. I had to adjust the capture rod so that the hood stowed as close to the rest of the body as it should. I've got some paint touchups to do, but that's no biggie.

I also drilled holes in the bottom pan so I could install the grill. I elongated them with my dremmel, so that I could adjust as needed later on. Using an acid brush and a rattle can of flat black, I blackened all shiny bolt heads and such within the air intake cavity, zip tied all the wiring together, and prepped the grill shell by gluing on the beading. With that firmly affixed to the grill, installing the thing should have been a breeze, but it didn't fit - the curve was wrong.

My solution was to bolt in the bottom ones first and then the top, mainly because with the top bolts loose, getting the bottom part of the shell snug against the body was easy - one hand pushing, the other tightening the retaining bolts.

I then pushed each top corner and tightened them down, resulting with what is now seen.

And because I'm a dumbass, there's small gap, a missing bit of metal, in one corner, and I'll be darned if I redo body work in that area... So I'll have to live with the imperfection.
