Review of Proven Ground Hard Folding Tonneau Cover.

This was purchased with my own funds and not sponsored in anyway. Purchased for a specific need and not for reviewing it.

Took a trip with a bed full of luggage and drove 4 hours in the rain when there wasn’t supposed to be any! Time for a tonneau cover but there’s tons of different manufacturers and models. Virtually each one has bad reviews, leak, and many of the expensive ones are amazingly easy to break into.

The only tonneau cover that didn’t seem easy to break into, no complaints about leaking, easy install and removal, didn’t take up bed space with brackets or rails, and didn’t have a ton of bad reviews, was Proven Grounds. This is the house brand of American Trucks and you can actually buy replacement parts should you need them.

Despite getting the wrong installation instructions, it’s simple and quick. Installed it 10 minutes before its first trip and have had no issues at all. Once the brackets have been installed, it takes mere minutes to uninstall and reinstall.

Doesn’t seem to have any impact on fuel economy, performance, or driving characteristics.

Cost twice as much as some low end tonneau covers and doesn’t offer as much security as a permanently installed hard top or roll up cover. Costs much less than permanently installed covers, doesn’t take up bed space, and easy removal able when needing to haul large, heavy, or bulky items.

Tonneau cover is for a 5 foot thru 5 foot 2 inch or 1.52-1.57 meter bed with rails. It’s also made for different lengths of beds, and beds without rail systems.
