The story of Raja Bharathari is widely popular in north India. According to folklore he was the king of the Ujjain and after meeting Guru Gorkh Nath (Great Nath Sidha yogi ). Raja Bharathari renounced his kingdom and became a sadhu. There are many devotional songs in Rajasthan that are based on his life story.

This song is part of Raja Bharathari’s story where Guru Gorkhnath told him to go as a beggar to his palace and he should call his wife (Queen) mother and ask for alms. The song is about the conversation between Queen and Raja Bharathari where the queen is asking him that one day you held my hand as a life partner and now you are leaving me just because of a Sadhu Bharthari trying to make her understand that it is his destiny he cannot do anything about it. It’s not a fault of Guru it’s the game of Karma.
