Tim recently said he struggled for decades to forgive the drunk driver who killed his dad. Tim adored his dad and his death drove Tim to resentment, anger and dark places that lasted decades. One of the dark places was his association with drug dealers in his youth. He got caught and faced a life sentence (under the Michigan State laws of the time.) By telling the authorities who his "employers' were, he got a three year sentence. Many people condemn Tim saying he was a snitch. Tim Dees, a Criminal justice technology writer and consultant Author said, " Allen saw an opportunity to get early parole by providing information on other inmates. Many people might regard this as a moral failing. I see it as a way to identify crimes and criminals and at the same time help yourself. If I was in prison, there wouldn’t be much I would not consider doing in order to get out." Tim himself said he was a stupid, angry kid who did a stupid thing to get into prison. Many feel he did a stupid thing to get out. But then again, it's one of those situations where EACH of us has to ask, "Would I do the same thing if I were FULLY in Tim's shoes?" I merely present the works and life stories of Tim Allen and Robin Williams as people whose lives and experiences are lessons to be pondered and reflected upon.
