Joe Franklin and Bob Hope

Описание к видео Joe Franklin and Bob Hope

Legendary New York talk show host Joe Franklin interviews Bob Hope in July 1989, when Hope was 86. They talk a lot about Bing Crosby, Hope's comedy partner and close friend, who is seen in a clip from Franklin's show. Lucille Ball is mentioned, but only as a lead-in to a story about Desi Arnaz. They talk about George Burns as well. Hope also relates the story about how the song, "I Can't Get Started," was written for him to perform (with Eve Arden as the one he sang it to) at the Ziegfeld Follies on Broadway, but later became a huge hit for Bunny Berrigan. This segment was done for Joe Franklin's 40th Anniversary special, which aired on July 17, 1989 on WOR-TV in New York. Check out my channel for other clips from this special.
