Looking for easy and fun WINTER activities / ideas for kids come winter break? I have 5 very simple and cool kid friendly ideas for little ones -pre school age and up!

1. Catch Snow Flakes! This is so simple yet the kids love it! Best yet it takes little to no time to set up a s clean up. All you need is some black construction paper, magnifying glass (optimal), and some snow! I found , the big slow faking flaky snow works the best!

2. Frozen Bubbles. It must be cold to do this experiment so dress the kids up properly. I think it about 15 degrees out when we did this video. It’s a little tricky. We found that our bubbles would pop on the ground, so if you had it attached to the blower it worked much better. Also, it can be a windy day. It will pop easily with just a slight breeze. You may have to try it a couple of time before you get it right. But once you do, it’s pretty cool. The kids loved popping it and seeing it break into an almost plastic like consistency.

3. Snow Volcano. Again, very simple. All you need is a cup, snow, food coloring, white vinegar, and baking soda. The cool part about this experiment is that you can do it over and over again until you run out of supplies.

4. Candy FUN! Kids get to make candy out of SNOW! ❄️ Jackson and Sydney will show you how to make easy maple syrup CANDY out of snow! Simple winter activity for KIDS! Adult supervision required.
What you’ll need:
Maple syrup
Tray
Snow
Pan to boil maple syrup

5. KIDS! ❄️ A fun way to show kids how water and oil don’t mix!
Jackson and Sydney will show you how to make a simple science experiment (Winter Storm in a Jar) that you can easily do in the comfort of your home! The kids really had a blast with this experiment and I have to admit, I even thought it was pretty neat to watch.
All you need is a large jar, water, food coloring, baby oil (I used two bottles of oil seen in the video), alka seltzer tablets, and white paint.
You’ll be amazed at how simple yet fun this experiment really is. Easy set up and easy clean up too! Overall, it is a fast and exciting science experiment that any kid will enjoy!
** make it more fun and add several jars with a different color each! ** Great to do on those rainy/cold days, or it may be fun to incorporate on a play date with a friend to help keep them entertained.
