I always thought I was going to be an actor

I grew up performing and received a BFA in Acting and a Minor in Dance

After college I moved to Chicago where I started performing professionally

My plan was to continue acting, maybe travel for it, but ultimately I just wanted to continue performing - but my body had other plans

When I first started getting sick I began to shift my life and developed a new plan, to become a yoga instructor

I said goodbye to theatre and well was my new focus

I ended up a yoga instructor, ran a children’s yoga studio and became a reiki practitioner

I leaned into nature for healing and found myself often hiking or swimming at Barton springs to try and help stabilize my ever declining system

I became obsessed with the idea of thru hiking the PCT as a way to fully emerge myself in nature and far I could push myself

In a short amount of time my body continued to deteriorate, I was finally diagnosed with Addison’s Disease and I ended up having to retire from teaching at 27

I had tackled a few section hikes of the PCT and was about to take on another, when only a few days in fully struggled, sustained a spine and knee injury and had to come off the trail

I had to put all those plans of hiking on the back burner

More diagnosis’s, surgeries, symptoms and set backs, which brought me to my next plan

After constantly finding myself bed-bound, I turned to knitting and crochet and quickly found a passion

I started to share my journey with chronic illness, because I didn’t want others to go through it alone

The National Adrenal Diseases Foundation found my YouTube channel and reached out to see if I was interested in helping their non-profit

9 years later and now I’m a fiber artist with an overwhelming amount of collections, fashion shows, markets and customers, I’ve become a patient advocate and get to help others living with adrenal disease every day, and to top it all off I’m married to my best friend and favorite person

Life has its own agenda, honestly I think I’m on plan E or F at this point😉
