Описание к видео Laparoscopic Sleeve Gastrectomy Video - Brigham and Women's Hospital

Weight loss surgery performed by laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy, for morbidly obese patients, is demonstrated by Dr.Scott Shikora, Director Metabolic Health and Bariatric Surgery at Brigham and Women's Hospital. During the weight loss surgery, the outer crescent of the stomach is removed, leaving behind a stomach shaped like a tube which can hold three to five ounces of food. Patients lose 50 to 65% of excess body weight and experience other health benefits including a reduction in blood pressure and less joint pain.
