According to Irsa, the water level in Tarbela Dam has reached dead level. At present the water level in Tarbela Dam is 1400 feet and below 1400 feet the water of Tarbela Dam is unusable. Tarbela Dam has an inflow of 50,000 cusecs and an outflow of 60,000 cusecs.
Irsa said the melting of ice was slow due to low temperatures in Skardu and northern areas. Informing the provinces of this situation, instructions have been issued that the provinces should be careful in the use of water. If this situation continues, the water shortfall will increase further.
Irsa added that the country's rivers have lost 18,800 cusecs of water compared to the previous day. The water shortage was estimated at 17%, which could increase.
