And here it is, the last of the lot. The last of the themes from the Clearwater era from the show. The Busy Station Theme wasn't used much in the 2nd series, In Series 1 it was quite the staple for Knapford scenes. We do hear it first in Saved From Scrap, not too different from the original but it's Percy and Harold & 'Plunge' which introduce us to some fresh new mixes for Series 2!
Here's an interesting note. As some may recognize, the mix heard in Wrong Road and Percy & Harold was a cut version that ends after the second verse of the theme with a flute lick at the end. In the 'Surprise Adventures' cassette tape, at the start you hear a rare mix that has a secret third verse that wasn't used in the show which now makes me wonder what that mix was originally planned for.
It's different to the Saved From Scrap one which uses the S1 mix primarily and you can tell this was a fresh redo for the second series as the sound is brassier and has more reverb on it. This mix is definitely softer than the Series 1 version, which has a more gritty and drier sound with the stronger cabasas emulating the driving pistons of a steam train whereas this is far more ambient.
