Abiotic Factor - Fast X-Ray Towers

Описание к видео Abiotic Factor - Fast X-Ray Towers

Here's how to quickly go from the trigger for spawning the Leyak in the Cascade Laboratories to building your first X-Ray Tower to defend against it.

At the beginning of the video, entering the XR Containment area triggers an event that lasts for the rest of the game and can't be disabled (at this point in Early Access, v0.8.1 at least), where an entity called the Leyak will spawn nearby every 15 minutes. It slowly moves toward you, and then enrages and quickly kills you if it gets too close. Simply looking directly at it for a few seconds chases it off, but it'll be back in another 15 minutes. If you're standing around not paying attention, even inside of your base crafting or reading the journal, it'll get you. Building an X-Ray Tower is the first reliable means to defend yourself in your base against it, allowing you to let your guard down again.

It's a pretty hotly debated topic in the community right now, so I thought I'd share some tips. Also he's really spoopy I've been ambushed enough myself and wanted some revenge, in speedrun form. And yes I realize this is totally overkill, this mechanic isn't terribly difficult, and it's not as terrifying or as unfair as some elements from like SCP Containment Breach, but whatever.

Also check out that strat with the Keypad Hacker 2:57, you can totally begin the animation on one terminal, and end it on a different terminal, and it will unlock the second terminal. Probably saved a cool half second there.

One more thing for the competitive-minded out there: My equip load is below 50%, and my Sprinting is Level 9 in this clip. Your results will vary for other values.

This video was made for my Steam guide, which you can find here https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfile...

Finally, this game is amazing, it's basically a Half-Life inspired survival crafting dream. Get it HERE https://store.steampowered.com/app/42...

Hmm, do I look into real speedruns now?
