What the Swordmaster’s Connection to House Atreides Means for the Dune: Prophecy

Описание к видео What the Swordmaster’s Connection to House Atreides Means for the Dune: Prophecy

As Paul Atriedies' distant ancestor, the swordmaster in Dune: Prophecy has a significant opportunity to thwart Valya Harkonnen's ambitions to rule the Empire. The 2012 book Sisterhood of Dune, authored by Kevin J. Anderson and Brian, the son of original Dune author Frank Herbert, served as the basis for the six-part television series Dune: Prophecy. The narrative is set over 10,000 years before Paul Atreidies' ascent, detailed in Denis Villenueve's Dune (2020) and Dune: Part Two (2024). The beginnings of the formidable shadow sisterhood known as the Bene Gesserit and their manipulation of human destiny are revealed in Dune: Prophecy.

House Harkonenn and House Atredies were on the same team when the Great Houses fought the Thinking Machines. As demonstrated in the Dune movies, House Harkonnen and House Atreides have a long history of animosity and strife, with the former attempting to obliterate the latter by positioning them for failure and death on the spice planet Arrakis. According to Dune: Prophecy, this rivalry started long before Paul Atreides rose to power because of the Mother Reverend Superior, Valya Harkonnen, who is determined to marry Princess Ynez Corrino, a Bene Gesserit in training, with a young prince named Pruwet Richese.
