Although September begins as transformational Pluto retrogrades back into traditional Capricorn to finish up its deconstruction of the status quo, there is still an overall feeling of forward movement. Nevertheless, the stationary retrograde of rebellious Uranus on September 1 marks the backward turning of the last of the four outer planets, indicating a focus on the completion of old business in our lives. The analytical Virgo Moon on September 2 at 6:55 pm PDT is an opportunity to plant the seeds of work-related projects or health-oriented practices that could come to the first level of fruition at the Pisces Full Moon Eclipse on September 17 at 7:34 pm PDT. However, the journey to the Full Moon is fraught with complications and obstacles, beginning with the confusing square between action-hero Mars and fantasy-prone Neptune just a few hours after the New Moon. The Sun’s opposition to taskmaster Saturn on September 7 requires discipline and hard work to overcome external resistance. Unfortunately, our ability to respond to circumstantial pressures may be limited due to unavoidable responsibilities and unforeseen hurdles.

Motivation could become a significant problem once restless Mars slips into reflective Cancer on September 4. However, an electrifying Mercury-Uranus square on September 6 prompts us to give voice to our thoughts, even if they might be better left unsaid. We are more concerned about saying the right thing after Mercury enters perfectionist Virgo on September 8, but our self-assurance builds through September 12 when the willful Sun forms a conflictive square with overconfident Jupiter. Thankfully, the outcome of our actions might still be positive as beautiful Venus perfects a flowing trine to bountiful Jupiter on September 14.

The Lunar Eclipse on September 17 reveals something that needs to be released while analytical Mercury’s opposition to authoritative Saturn the following day requires us to justify our choices prior to turning a serious thought into decisive action. The Sun’s harmonious trine to wildcard Uranus on the 19th kicks off a few days of heightened planetary activity, including an enthusiastic Mercury-Jupiter square and a passionate Sun-Pluto trine on the 21st. Events can take a temporary dip into darker realms when the Sun’s entry into Libra on September 22 is accompanied by an emotionally intense Venus-Pluto square and the shift of Venus into volatile Scorpio. Additionally, there is a larger shift of energy as the Autumnal Equinox represents a need to venture inward and find meaning in the shadows.

Life grows more complicated—and anything is possible—through September 25 when combative Mars runs into a reactive semisquare to chaotic Uranus. Additionally, the Saturn-Pluto semisquare on the same day could precipitate a dynamic response to this planetary stand-off. This is the second of three Saturn-Pluto connections that will continue to expose wounds about boundaries between ideas, religions, and nations through mid-June 2025. Thankfully, the energy settles down when communicator Mercury enters diplomatic Libra on the 26th and impulsive Mars creates a smooth trine with goal-oriented Saturn on the 29th. Mercury’s conjunction with the Sun on September 30 caps off the month with a profound chance to use our words in a strategic manner as we move a project closer to a significant milestone. We are still traveling on an accelerated path into the future, even if we encounter a few setbacks along the way to test our resilience. Clearly, this is not a time to slip into complacency; even small actions now could manifest greater ramifications as time marches on.
