In this video, you will learn how to measure vibration, check bearing condition and take a infrared temperature reading of a motor with the Fluke 805 Vibration Meter in 3 easy steps.

First, you select whether the machine being tested has less than or greater than 600 RPMs.

Second, you select a machine category. In this view, you have the option to skip this setting, which will tell the Fluke 805 to not make any judgments on the severity of the bearing or overall vibration reading. Or, you could select either the reciprocating chiller (Open Motor) or reciprocating chiller (Hermetic Motor), whichever is relevant to your vibration test.

Third, once both settings have been selected, you are ready to test. Once the test has been completed, you are given 3 readings:

The first reading displays the condition of the particular bearing that was tested with a rating (good, satisfactory, unsatisfactory, or unnacceptable).

The second reading displays the overall vibration levels of your machine with a rating (good, satisfactory, unsatisfactory, or unnacceptable).

The third reading displays the infrared temperature taken by the Fluke 805 with a rating (good, satisfactory, unsatisfactory, or unnacceptable).

The Fluke 805 Vibration Meter is the most reliable vibration screening device available for front-line mechanical troubleshooting teams that need repeatable, severity-scaled readings of overall vibration, bearing condition and temperature.
