First Attempt at Forging a Blacksmith's Knife ASMR

This was my first attempt at an actual knife & is a birthday gift for my son. After the video ends, I filed down the edge to give it a definitive shape, & filed in a sharper point. I also fiddled with the handle a bit until I was quite pleased with the overall product.

Unfortunately, there was a catastrophic failure to the blade during the quench and the knife will not keel. Several lessons were learned as to what not to do again.

I won't forge in the bevel so much, I'll cut the stock in half lemgthwise to save stress on the steel from potemtially overworking it, I'll only forge at higher temperatures, & I'll quench in preheated oil instead of water.

I'm still gifting it though.
