IRL1998 | ICR2 Se 3 Ep 8 [ENG]

Welcome!

After the shock created on 1996 for U.S racing season with an alternative open-wheel category at the maximum level (declared almost as a threat to C.A.R.T. championship just less than 2 years before) the back then new formed Indy Racing League divided an entire country of racing fans.

I tried to tell this story within 2 of my videos:

Using the game Indycar Racing 2 (ICR2 for short) by Papyrus I’m going to try to race not anymore as a rookie (after trying previously IRL ’96 and 1996-1997) in this 1998 season.

Tracks and carset are here thanks to a beautiful website full of passionate and competent people that allow us to race many seasons and tracks of US history (www.icr2.net)

The game was born in a period where was not so common, like today, to have easily a set of steering wheel + pedals…25 years after I want to try it with a proper equipment.

From this episode onwards I am going to use a great piece of software, named "Joy2Key".
It allows, also for old DOS games, to map and configure buttons/switches on you steering wheel, pedals, joypad or anything else that has buttons: it's stunning!
