The Cermak Branch of the CTA Pink Line

Описание к видео The Cermak Branch of the CTA Pink Line

In this video, we ride the CTA's newest line, the Pink Line. Even though the Pink Line is the latest line (opening in 2006), the line's infrastructure is not new. The Cermak branch (fka the Douglass Branch) used to be a branch of the Blue Line and this caused inefficient service to the West Side. To combat this, the CTA created the Pink Line, which uses the Cermak Branch and connects to the Loop via the Lake Street Elevated (video coming soon). The Cermak Branch consists of the following stops:

54th/Cermak
Kostner
Pulaski
Central Park
Kedzie
California
Western
Damen
18th
Polk

The tracks run from 21st from 54th/Cermak and Damen, while 18th and Polk run along Paulina Ave, heading toward the Paulina Connector, which connects the Cermak Branch and the Lake Street Elevated.
