Cyclonic Storm Dana is barreling toward coastal Odisha, expected to make landfall early Friday morning, bringing heavy rains and thunderstorms to the region. The cyclone poses a significant threat to nearly half of Odisha's population, particularly affecting the southern part of West Bengal as well. Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi reported that only 30% of the residents in the identified 'danger zone'—approximately 300,000 to 400,000 people—have been evacuated. Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari confirmed the establishment of 250 relief centers providing essential food, water, and health services. Meanwhile, over 200 trains have been canceled, and flights have been suspended in anticipation of the storm's impact.
