Joscho Stephan & friends: Just a gigolo

On November 25th 2022 Joscho Stephan, Volker Kamp, Sven Jungbeck and Costel Nitescu performed an extraordinary concert at Gartenheim Hannover. One of many highlights was this version of `Just gigolo` by Leonello Casucci . Besides the unique arrangement of this tune, Joscho & friends showed off their brilliant soloing skills.

"Just a gigolo" is a popular song, written by Leonello Casucci in 1929 with the original title `Schöner Gigolo, armer Gigolo`. Many versions of different artist have been followed and 1985 David Lee Roth made this Song to a world wide No.1 Pop Hit. The song was first published by Wiener Boheme Verlag in 1929 and performed by several orchestras in Germany that year, including Dajos Béla's orchestra with the singer Kurt Mühlhardt. Daniele Serra sang a version entitled "Gigolo" in Italy, followed by Sirio Di Piramo and his orchestra in 1930, while other countries provided their own versions.

Am 25.11.2022 gaben Joscho Stephan, Volker Kamp, Sven Jungbeck and Costel Nitescu ein fantastisches Konzert in der Reihe Jazz Club Hannover by Gartenheim im AudimaGH`s Hannover. Eines der vielen Highlights an diesem Abend war die Version von `Just a gigolo`. Neben dem starken Arrangement glänzen Joscho und seine Mitstreiter mal wieder mit herausragenden Solo Passagen.

`Just a gigolo` wurde 1929 von Leonello Casucci geschrieben, der Original Titel war `Schöner Gigolo, armer Gigolo`.
