Hardscrabble pass to Westcliffe Colorado. Snow capped Sangre de Christo's. 4K virtual road trip

On this drive we start outside of Florence Colorado just south of the Federal Supermax prison. We follow colorado 96 through pristine Colorado countryside into the foothills of the wet mountains then up and over Hardscabble pass. as we crest the summit, the prominent and snow covered Sangre de Christo mountain range appears ithe distance.

This range is one of my favorites. Home to some of the most challenging peaks I the country, the jut up out of the earth with no other hills or peaks obstructing their view.

We then decend into the town of Westcliffe. A perfect little mountain town with a handful of restaurants and shops yet seemingly untouched by the tourist crowds found in Breckenridge and Aspen. Yet this town is an easy day trip from Colorado Springs.

In a later video, we'll loop back to Cañon City which is a short 45 minute drive with even better views of the Sangre de Christo range.
