Playa de Puerto Rico in Gran Canaria belongs to the municipality of Mogan, in southern part of the island It is well connected to the rest of the island. Although the island has lots of beaches which were formed naturally, there are three that are man-made. The most popular, and well known, is this one, the beach of Puerto Rico. It is popular among the British and Irish tourists, mostly families.

It is the first of the artificial beaches in Gran Canaria to be made. With its two hundred and fifty meters long and ninety meters wide, the beach of Puerto Rico offers a wide range of tourist and entertainment activities worthy of the best places in the Canaries. Most of the hotels and apartments are built on the sides of the hills, facing the sea.

The golden sand of the beach of Puerto Rico in Gran Canaria has a great quality, clean and invigorating. The temperature is great all year long so the sand is warm most of the time. The sand is clean and pure. Its waters are calm, they are wrapped by two artificial breakwaters that protect the flow of sea.
