Moments in the wild with Khanyisa and the Jabulani Herd

Описание к видео Moments in the wild with Khanyisa and the Jabulani Herd

Adine and her team share a few moments during their morning walk with Khanyisa. Israel, a senior carer, is with Reply, still giving him guidance about understanding the big elephants of the Jabulani herd.

Shepherd, Last and Owen were taking the daily dung samples of some of the elephants which we send to labs to get tested for the elephants' stress hormones.

Khanyisa had a great morning and gulped her milk down, which was fortunate, as Tokwe decide she wanted her head right over Khanyisa as she was drinking. As you can imagine, her head and tusks are weighty and could cause serious harm if descending onto Herman. Last assisted, giving Herman some space. Timisa soon joined in, much like yesterday, and was no doubt looking for some milk of her own!

It was soon time to head back for Khanyisa, and Lundi and Bubi walked her back to the orphanage. Adine took some lovely footage (pun intended!) of their long walk back. We hope you find it as soothing as we did!

Lundi's trunk lifted into the air as she caught the scent of fresh grapefruits waiting for them at the orphanage. Elephants have an exceptional sense of smell!

As they arrived, Herman had the grapefruits ready for them, and Reply had some freshly made milk just for Khanyisa!

We hope you enjoy the long video. Look out for Khanyisa's little sprint past Lundi as they were walking!
