Today we are exploring an abandoned mall with something unexpected left left inside.. This is Findley mall.

This place opened in 1962 and by 1990 the mall had grown over 525,000 sqft, including a jc penny, sears, Kmart, Tj Maxx, and other widely known anchor stores. But unfortunately by 2018, all of these stores were gone, and the mall was mainly home to local businesses.
In September of 2020 the mall was sold to an Investment Group for $4 million, and for the next 5 years the group planned what to do with this dying, but incredible building. They tried to attract tenants and open up places such as laser tag and restaurants, but nothing seemed to spark this mall up again. But In January of 2025, the momentum shifted decisively toward demolition and new development: Target finalized plans in March 2025 to purchase site space and build a ~140,000 sq ft store, with demolition set to clear 188,000 sq ft of the malll.

What is mind-blowing about the closure of this mall, is the amount of things left inside even 4 months after closing for demolition. We explored this place in may of 2025, and there were still stores stocked to the brim as if they were still open, 1 even having money in the cash register…

As of now the mall has been demolished, but join us as we go back to may of 2025 to sneak into the old findlay mall.
