After years of waiting Mark finally found a telephoto zoom lens for his Sony full-frame cameras that works for him as a filmmaker. The Sony 70-200mm f/4 Macro G OSS II is really three great lenses in one: first, it provides an incredible reach, especially when used on a Sony a7IV in super-35 crop mode where it can be a 300mm lens. But Mark shows that a 2x teleconverter can make it a 600mm lens on the a7IV. Second, it is a half-macro lens across the focal range. And with a 2x teleconverter, it becomes a 1 to 1 macro lens that can replace a dedicated macro (provided you don’t use it in low light). Lastly, there are a host of other features and even a couple of cons, because nothing is perfect. Enjoy!
