2023 Update: Visual Basic was introduced by Microsoft with Excel 2013. It was last updated with Office 2013 (VBA 7.1) and - while still available in Excel and Office 365 - Microsoft does not "plan to evolve Visual Basic as a language." VBA will continue to be included in Microsoft because so many companies still rely on it for standard and legacy processes.
