A battery of e.m.f. 4 volt and internal resistance 1 Ω is connected in parallel with another battery of e.m.f. 1V & internal resistance 1 Ω, with their like poles together. The combination is used to send current through an external resistance of 2 Ω. Then the current through the external resistance is:
a) 1.62 A
b) 0.8 A
c) 1 A
d) 2.4 A
