1912 Weber Upright 56"

Описание к видео 1912 Weber Upright 56"

This piano is a 1912 Weber that we finished very recently. We've been through this piano super thoroughly from the cosmetics to the regulation.

Of course, piano have different systems. There is the keys and the action and the hammers and the dampening system and of course the cabinetry.

We restore lots of instruments, and this is what really drew me into piano work, it was these pianos from 1920-1930.

It turned out great.Very ornate cabinetry. This cabinetry is more reminiscent of cabinetry from the 1890's.
We cleaned this very thoroughly. Everything under the keys was quite disgusting when we started.

We actually use baking soda shot at a high pressure, and it does a really good job.

Hammers of course take the greatest beating. The striking of steels strings wears them down. It's really necessary that we replace them. Same with the dampers.

The decal is just a cosmetic thing. When we refinish the piano, the original decal just comes off with the sanding.

Both of the pedals are original, and we polished them and plated them.

You don't get pianos that have this big of a sound after the 1930's, after the great depression.

Come check it out. 1497 S. State Street
