How to install Jenkins on Mac book

Step 1 : Run below command to install Jenkins at your local machine

Install the latest LTS version: brew install jenkins-lts


Step 2 : After the successfull installation of Jenkins - start Jenkins using below command

Start the Jenkins service: brew services start jenkins-lts


Step 3 : Launch this URL in your browser

http://localhost:8080


Step 4 : A dialogbox unlock Jenkins will appear - which will ask you to provide administrator password - it will provide you the path to access this password


/Users/shashikantrai/.jenkins/secrets/initialAdminPassword

Enter the password and click on continue button

Step 5 : Customize Jenkins - this will give you 2 options install suggested plugins or select plugin to install

Select option to "install suggested plugins" to install default pugins


Step 6 : Once the plugin will install - it will ask you to setup the "Create first admin user"

it's not a mandatory step - if you want you can provide the details and click on save and continue button else skip and continue as admin


Step 7 : Your Jenkins is ready for use


Step 8 : To stop jenkins - run below command

brew services stop jenkins-lts
