Welcome back to ProGuitarShop and ToneReport.com Today we’re standing guard with the Cerberus from NUX Effects. The Cerberus is a multi-headed all-inclusive pedalboard solution that gives you the maximum amount of options with a minimum amount of space. The front end of the Cerberus offers up two discrete analog dirt sections, including a low-gain overdrive and higher-gain Marshall-style distortion. These two effects can be run in either order, or in parallel for an ultra-thick tone for either lead or rhythm, and if you want a little extra kick, there’s a boost button on the rear panel of the gain section. The analog dirt side feeds directly into a dual-channel modulation machine, which gives you six different types of modulation across two channels, including Phaser, Uni-Vibe and Tremolo, as well as three types of chorus. Each channel boasts its own Rate and Depth controls while the chorus offers a master level control. The final section is the Delay area, which houses both delay and reverb effects, with three types available on each channel, including tape, BBD and digital delay types coupled with plate, hall and spring reverb algorithms. Plus the Delay side features tap control and a multitude of subdivisions for your warping pleasure. The NUX Cerberus has a lot going on under the hood, with separate outputs for both analog and digital sections for use with an effects loop, MIDI I/O, Expression input (vol), along with a cab-sim out loaded with impulse responses. A separate control switch lets you assign any one of four effects to launch on the fly, and the Tap switch doubles as a preset selector to completely reconfigure the entire unit with a single click.
