In 2016 the Worker's Party of Korea launched the Mallima campaign to inspire the people to work even harder for the prosper of their country. Back in the 1950s there was a similar Chollima campaign named after the ancient mythical flying horse Chollima that translates to "the thousand ri horse". This fantastic horse could travel 1000 ri (400 km) in one single day. The new Mallima horse however translates to "the 10000 ri horse" so now they hope for even faster progress. And maybe, there is some inflation going on even among ancient mythical horses...

The Moranbong Band members have always been very skilled singers and musicians but perhaps not too elaborate in dancing. But here suddenly while being away since May they have obviously practiced dance moves at Mallima speed to become almost professional dancers, too. And this just over a period of seven months. Being one of the most important fore-figures in the country they actually also in this way provide a real life example of what is possible if you just work very hard.

You may perhaps even interpret this as "Yes, we know there are girl bands in the south who dance a lot, but our girl band don't do that in order to show how sexy they are but to inspire the people into building a prosperous country". You can actually clearly see from how they move that these singers have not been exposed since childhood to other girls who exploit their bodies just to sell music, clothes or whatever...
