For some inexplicable reason no-one has posted a full version of Aussie heartthrob John St Peeters' 1979 hit 'So Many Ways' on youtube. My posting has a vinyl jump or two and is of very average audio quality, but it is at least here! John had been kicking around for the better part of a decade before 'So Many Ways' was the biggest hit of his career; reaching #13 nationally. In my 10,000 + mp3 collection I have a few of his releases including 'You; you're the one', 'Deep Inside Me' and my favourite - the theme song to the long running magazine show for kids 'Wonder World' which i posted some years back. John's good looks; his charm was always front and centre when he performed or presented our best loved music show 'Countdown' and he was a very popular presence on the music and cabaret scene for several decades. 'So Many Ways' was included on the Various Artists compile 'Bacon & Eggs: The Album' - a bizarrely named and photographed 7 Records collectors' item which i owned at one time and is featured in this montage. The drawcards on that collection were definitely Amii Stewart's 'Knock On Wood', Village People's 'In the Navy' , Eruption's 'One Way Ticket' and Air Supply's 'Lost in Love'.

I wish I had a better version of this lovely song to share, but as i am celebrating all things 1979, I wanted to honour it as it was John's biggest selling single and he was a part of my youth.
