Eugenie moved out and returned to the palace,where,by tradition,all members of the royal family reside.What's wrong with the"frog cottage"?Meghan had a hand in its renovation,striving to make it resemble the homes of Hollywood stars.They chose exactly such a mansion in Santa Barbara.The Sussexes' contract with Netflix includes they' involvement in various projects,producing and appearing in person—not as actors.It's hard to believe the bosses of the mega-empire would risk such enormous sums just for Meghan.They're interested in Princess Diana's son,a character who could shed light on a host of events that are of public interest.And very much so!Proof of this is the success of The Crown,a serie about the Windsor dynasty that dealt another painful blow to the family's image.It's a fictionalized version that ends with the appearance of Prince William&Kate.The UK Culture Secretary suggested that the filmmakers preface each episode with a disclaimer:"All events are fictional."However,Morgan rejected the minister's proposal.It's no coincidence that he also rejected the inclusion of Harry&Meghan in the serie,because they are still relatively new.He phrased it much more delicately,but the point is the same.Will their time ever come?Or will the Sussexes be remembered merely as "victims" who chose between duty and passion,as is said of Edward VIII,who abdicated for his love for Simpson?He was given the title Duke of Windsor and advised to leave his homeland.Films and books continue to be made about the couple.They lived a long life and in 35 years,the former king never once said he regretted his choice.The comparison is quite apt.The British monarchy was in a difficult situation then and is now going through a difficult time,which was exacerbated by Harry's escape overseas.Not only the palace's inhabitants are offended;fans,who condemned Harry for his Netflix contract,are also dissatisfied.If Meghan had previously been blamed for all the sins,now a barrage of criticism has fallen on him.Much the same thing happened with Edward's fans.Without this incident in 1936,his niece Elizabeth would hardly have ascended to the throne. When Harry&Meghan moved to the US,many hoped they would return.And Elizabeth,despite her disappointment and resentment,assured her grandson that she would be glad to see him return.Now no one believes that anymore.The gap between them and the kingdom is too deep.Love has driven the prince into a corner—in reality,into Hollywood,where not everything always ends happily.Meghan is hardly an A-list actress,even though she has managed to befriend Winfrey over feminism and some influential figures.And who's Harry?The prince.She made the right choice.with her husband's help,is trying to make up for what she failed to achieve earlier:to become a somewhat influential figure in the"dream factory."And Harry?What dividends has he reaped?It would have been better for him to stay in Britain and not air his experiences in public so often.Impulsiveness is Harry's Achilles' heel.As a result,he was left high and dry.Meghan's love and devotion forced him to renounce the traditions and way of life in which he was raised from birth.The enfant terrible has been forgiven for many antics.His grandmother not only allowed him to marry the American actress,but also welcomed her into the family.Her Majesty's attitude toward Diana,despite all her complexities,was different.The royal family's traditions differ from those in which Meghan was raised,but she could have directed her energy and talents to the benefit of others as the Duchess of Sussex,with all the privileges and opportunities that come with that title. And now,people are saying of her husband that he's traded his royal heritage and duty for celebrity status,which he still has to earn.In Hollywood, everyone is equal.Only resounding success turns an ordinary actor into a star.And few stay in the spotlight for long.
