Going into Paris, Julie Derron of Switzerland - aka Little Pistol - was not thought of as a medal contender since she was 10th in the World Rankings. Nine women came off the bike together and quickly that became a group of four deep into the run. “When there were only four of us,“ remembers Julie, “ I was thinking that fourth place in the Olympics would be great for me.” Julie pushed the pace throughout the 10K and shocked the world with her silver medal performance!
