Tying (and fishing) a Parachute Adams Dry Fly

Описание к видео Tying (and fishing) a Parachute Adams Dry Fly

The parachute style of dry flies was created in 1931 by Helen Todd who tied for the Alexander Martin Fishing Company in Scotland. The style's effectiveness can largely be attributed to the body of the fly riding in the surface film with the outspread hackle keeping it afloat.

Hook: #12-22 dry fly
Thread: Any color, or to match the body
Tail: Hackle fibers
Body: Adams gray dubbing (for an Adams)
Post: White calftail (or synthetic)
Hackle: Brown and grizzly (for an Adams)
