Here, you’ll find original logbooks, telegrams, and film reels from airship journeys that began in this very town. The museum covers expeditions from Norway, Italy, Russia, the US, and beyond. There are models of the Norge and Italia, the airships that tried—and sometimes failed—to conquer the ice. Guided tours run three times a week, and your ticket is good for three days, because one visit is never enough to take it all in. The shop sells polar maps, books, and even fossils. The museum closes for the darkest weeks of winter, but the stories inside are always bright.
