On April 21, 2021 Edward Alexander, co-chair of Gwich'in Council International, joined a panel organized by the Icelandic Chairmanship of the Arctic Council to discuss Arctic Governance and how Observers could be further engaged in Arctic Council work.

Each panelist was invited to provide introductory, prerecorded remarks, and Ed shares a view of how Gwich'in approach the environment, animals, sustainability and abundance, and what a peaceful Arctic means. A peaceful Arctic is not just an Arctic devoid of conflict, but one where there is true peace and an understanding of our role and involvement in the world.
