This is literally every self-tape I've ever done...

OR--

it almost was. My computer couldn't take it.

Scrubbing my hard drive, Actors Access, Casting Networks, and Backstage, I found 179 self-tape I sent between 2022 and now--that's three and some years of taking this extremely seriously and I couldn't be more proud of myself.

Something I wasn't expecting, was seeing my gender journey so blatantly laid out for me to see in timeline form. You can really see me coming into my own--as the acting gets better, sure--but also as the femininity creeps in slowly. It's really fun to watch.

There's some really great tapes in here--some I am really proud of. My booked tape for Law and Order: SVU is in here! As well as two HBO tapes--I didn't get either but I am super grateful for the opportunity. My tape for Lucas and Iris is in here, Bee and Peony, some things towards the end I was really excited to get auditions for but didn't book; plenty of messy unhoused people (one tape I labeled "Junky"... I HOPE that was the character name they gave me, HA!), plenty of me eating.

I started out making a social media post and ended with a really full heart. I have come a really long way in three years--even just BELIEVING that I can do this. And if anyone takes anything practical away from this, always remember--the hardest part is starting. Start, don't think--put the blinders on--and take it one step at a time.

And in three years, maybe you'll have 179 tapes to be proud of, also.
